Dr. Richmond Wandera - President and Founder

Dr. Richmond Wandera is a Ugandan pastor and the founder of the Pastors Discipleship Network (PDN). His journey into ministry began with a strong desire to transform his community through the Gospel, but he quickly realized that the lack of training and practical ministry tools posed significant challenges. Seeking to find answers, Richmond pursued advanced theological education, first completing a Master of Spiritual Formation and Discipleship at Moody Bible Institute and later earning a Doctorate in Pastoral Leadership an Discipleship from Lancaster Bible College.

In 2009, inspired by his own journey as a pastor and his academic experiences, Richmond founded PDN to provide practical ministry training for pastors in Africa. His vision for the network was not just to offer theological education, but to offer holistic suppor — spiritually, emotionally, and intellectually—to help pastors avoid burnout and lead their churches effectively.

Under his leadership, PDN has expanded across Uganda, South Sudan, Congo, Rwanda, and Kenya, offering mentorship, discipleship training, leadership conferences, and church planting support.

Beyond his work with PDN,  Richmond is a sought-after speaker who addresses issues related to poverty, building high-impact churches, discipleship, and leadership at conferences both in Africa and internationally. He has a personal passion for poverty alleviation, shaped by his own experience growing up in Uganda’s toughest slums with the support of Compassion International.

Richmond’s ministry philosophy emphasizes the importance of holistic discipleship, believing that pastors cannot lead their congregations to spiritual maturity unless they are growing themselves. His leadership is rooted in humility, vision, and a deep commitment to supporting pastors. His expertise spans pastoral leadership, discipleship strategies, church growth, cross cultural ministry, and poverty reduction.

Through PDN, Richmond is creating a global movement of empowered pastors who can impact their communities and the world for Christ.
